Pentecost – the coming of the Holy Spirit

Photo Pentecost Chapel Ruins Brentwood
A windy morning around the Chapel Ruins with Christians from Churches in Brentwood.

The opening service was led by the Bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell. He spoke of the pre-occupation of “makeovers” – to our garden, houses and ourselves – where we strive to improve what we are. The truth is, we cannot. The only one who can is God, who through his Holy Spirit, came into the lives of early Christians at the first Pentecost.

There followed singing from worship groups from many local churches.
