We are a family of individuals who has been saved into a vibrant relationship with God through the death and resurrection of Jesus and God has knit together in community. We believe that Jesus is alive and active and that he desires us all to experience the fullness of life that he offers us. Hope Community Church is a family made up of a variety of ages, backgrounds and nationalities and is welcoming of all.
The opening service was led by the Bishop of Chelmsford, Stephen Cottrell. He spoke of the pre-occupation of “makeovers” – to our garden, houses and ourselves – where we strive to improve what we are. The truth is, we cannot. The only one who can is God, who through his Holy Spirit, came into the lives of early Christians at the first Pentecost.
There followed singing from worship groups from many local churches.
On Good Friday, believers from Hope Church and many others gathered at Hutton Union church. A large wooden cross was brought out and the group processed to Shenfield library, as a witness to the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus. A short service was held with music, then the walk returned to Hutton Union Church for tea and Hot Cross Buns.
We had a wonderful glow in the dark ‘Light’ party as an alternative to Halloween. Single Mums and their children had fun with flashing foam sticks, disco lights, games crafts and enjoyed a free a hot dog dinner!
An amazing 2-course Manna Meals Christmas dinner was enjoyed by loads of Single Mums and their children at our Christmas event. Children created beautiful ‘surprise’ Christmas gifts for their Mums, enjoyed wrapping each other up and feeding a hungry ‘reindeer’
